MULTIMEDIA COMMUNICATIONS

1. TRAINING OBJECTIVES

1.1 General objective:

To train human resources with political qualities, professional ethics, and good health, meeting socio-economic development and international integration requirements in the field of media and communications.

Learners are equipped with both fundamental and advanced knowledge of multimedia communications, integrating journalism, technology, arts, and digital media.

The program develops comprehensive professional skills, adaptability in digital environments, creativity, entrepreneurship, and lifelong learning ability in multimedia communications; fulfilling all six domains of digital competence: (1) Information and data, (2) Communication and collaboration, (3) Digital content creation, (4) Digital safety, (5) Problem-solving, (6) Professional digital competency.

 1.2 Specific objectives (SO): 

Graduates of the program will possess the following knowledge, skills, and qualities:

  • SO1: Possess basic knowledge of political theory, natural and social sciences, information and communication technology; ability to apply and practice according to the six domains of digital competence including (1) Information and data, (2) Communication and collaboration, (3) Digital content creation, (4) Digital safety, (5) Problem-solving, (6) Professional digital competency.
  • SO2: Possess comprehensive knowledge of journalism, communication, graphic design, image and sound techniques, film editing, digital interaction, and multimedia content production.
  • SO3: Acquire practical professional skills in digital content production, integrated communications, editing, filming, and post-production.
  • SO4: Develop skills in communication, teamwork, creative content development, effective use of digital communication tools and software; become proficient in foreign languages and information technology meeting global and digital transformation demands; develop comprehensive digital competence across six domains.
  • SO5: Have the ability for self-study, research, quick adaptation to changes in industry and technology; professional responsibility, social ethics, community service, and leadership in media product development.
  • SO6: Get prepared for entrepreneurship or further education in journalism, communications, and digital technologies.

2. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Entry requirements

Learners must graduate from high school or equivalent and meet the requirements stipulated by the Ministry of Education and Training as well as the annual admission plan of Vinh Long University of Technology Education.

  • Eligible candidates

High school graduates or equivalent.

3. LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • Learning outcomes (LO)

Upon completion of the undergraduate program in Multimedia Communications, students will acquire knowledge, skills, autonomy, and responsibility as follows:

  • LO01: Possess basic knowledge of Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh Thought, the Party’s policies, State laws; basic knowledge of natural sciences; general knowledge of social sciences, humanities, journalism, and information relevant to digital work environments.
  • LO02: Apply fundamental and advanced knowledge of information and digital technologies, and methods of multimedia production suitable for communication, events, and public relations; ability to evaluate digital tools and AI applications in communication; understanding and applying the six domains of digital competence.
  • LO03: Apply specialized knowledge in multimedia communications, including journalism, design, television, graphics, digital technologies, and digital content production; effectively use digital and AI tools in organizing, producing, and solving professional issues in multimedia communication.

  • LO04: Solve practical problems based on natural sciences, social sciences, political science, and law; communicate effectively and act professionally in journalism, media, and digital technology, complying with laws, social norms, and professional ethics.
  • LO05: Proficiently practice professional skills in producing, organizing, and implementing multimedia communication products; detect, analyze, and solve professional issues in practice.
  • LO06: Operate digital communication devices and systems; effectively and responsibly use creative support tools integrated with AI; meet all six domains of digital competence including information and data, communication and collaboration, digital content creation, digital safety, problem-solving, and professional digital competency.
  • LO07: Use English effectively to access digital resources, understand specialized materials in multimedia communications; meet prescribed foreign language standards; combine foreign languages with digital tools for effective learning, research, and professional communication.
