2. Training objectives:
2.1. General objectives
The Doctoral Program in Electrical Engineering provides advanced professional training that meets the criteria of Level 8 of Vietnam’s National Qualifications Framework. The program develops scientific thinking in electrical engineering, preparing graduates to establish and lead research groups at national, interdisciplinary, and international levels. Doctoral graduates will gain the capacity to conduct independent and creative research, identify principles and laws, and solve new problems of scientific significance. Doctoral graduates also has the ability to develop theoretical problems into practical scientific and technical activities and guide scientific research in the field of electrical engineering.
2.2. Specific objectives (SO)
Upon completion of the program of electrical engineering of Vinh Long University of Technology Education, doctoral graduates will:
SO1: Acquire comprehensive, in-depth, and advanced knowledge of electrical engineering;
SO2: Apply new knowledge to address scientific problems and contribute to the development of electrical engineering technologies that respond to environmental and societal challenges;
SO3: Master scientific theories, synthesize, deduce and analyze scientific problems, and develop innovative approaches to solving emerging issues;
SO4: Manage research activities professionally, participate in national and international conferences, and publish research results in the field of electrical engineering in recognized journals;
SO5: Demonstrate high responsibility in advancing professional knowledge, adapt flexibly, and provide scientific guidance in electrical engineering; conduct innovative research and adopt expert decision-making to create new knowledge in the field of electrical engineering;
SO6: Achieve proficiency in communication, including writing reports, presenting scientific reports and effectively using the means (technology applications) of communication; participate in international and multidisciplinary collaboration.

4. Full-course training period: The doctoral training program is designed for a period of 3 to 4 years.
5. Job opportunities:
Doctoral graduates in Electrical Engineering are qualified for the following positions:
- Lecturers and researchers at universities and colleges in Vietnam;
- Researchers at specialized institutes, research centers, and R&D divisions of enterprises, both domestically and internationally.
- Specialists in government agencies such as the Department of Industry and Trade, or in power companies and energy enterprises;
- Postdoctoral researchers in Vietnam or abroad.
