1. TRAINING OBJECTIVES
1.1 General Objective:
The program in Information Technology aims to educate competent engineers with strong political integrity, professional ethics, and sound health. Graduates will demonstrate foundational knowledge in mathematics, natural sciences, social sciences, and computing, as well as advanced and specialized knowledge in areas such as system administration, cybersecurity, IoT and artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and big data. They will be able to design, develop, and implement IT systems to meet national and international demands.
Graduates are also equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to pursue further studies in the field of Computer Science and Information Technology.
1.2 Specific objectives (SO):
The program is oriented towards ensuring that graduates acquire the following knowledge, skills, and qualities:
- SO1: Demonstrate understanding of political theory, national defense and security, the Party’s policies and State laws.
- SO2: Equip learners with the knowledge of natural sciences to support advanced IT research; ability to apply and practice in accordance with the six digital competency domains: (1) Digital information and data, (2) Digital communication and collaboration, (3) Digital content creation, (4) Digital safety, (5) Problem-solving in digital environments, (6) Professional digital competency.
- SO3: Equip learners with the knowledge of hardware, databases, computer programming, computer networks, and practical IT applications.
- SO4: Develop skills in hardware, software programming, information system analysis and design, network administration, and website design/management.
- SO5: Provide learners with professional skills in specialized areas such as IT system administration, cybersecurity, IoT and artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and big data.
- SO6: Provide learners with a spirit of autonomy and accountability; adherence to occupational safety and hygiene; professional work ethic, passion for the discipline, social responsibility, and community engagement.
- SO7: Assist learners in becoming proficient in professional communication, English for academic and technical purposes, academic writing, reporting, and seminars; able to use application and professional software effectively; and have the comprehensive development of digital competence to adapt in the digital transformation context.
2. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
2.1 Entry requirements
Learners must graduate from high school or equivalent and meet the requirements stipulated by the Ministry of Education and Training as well as the annual admission plan of Vinh Long University of Technology Education.

3.1 Learning outcomes (LO)
Upon completion of the undergraduate program in Information Technology, students will acquire knowledge, skills, autonomy, and responsibility as follows:
3.1.1 Knowledge
- LO01: Identify and present fundamental knowledge related to the Party’s policies, State laws, physical education, and national defense and security.
- LO02: Master and apply natural sciences and social sciences in real-life contexts; possess basic knowledge of information technology, the Internet, security, and digital systems.
- LO03: Present and explain fundamental issues in Information Technology such as computers, information systems, algorithms, and programming languages.
- LO04: Analyze and select appropriate tools and solutions to solve professional problems in Information Technology; understand digital technology trends affecting the profession and digital transformation in engineering.
- LO05: Apply specialized knowledge in computer networks, network security, and cloud computing to manage and maintain computer systems; apply IoT, Artificial Intelligence, and Big Data knowledge to develop intelligent and automated applications.
3.1.2 Skills
- LO06: Solve practical problems based on knowledge of natural sciences, social sciences, political science, and law; demonstrate entrepreneurship skills.
- LO07: Be able to build, develop, and transfer IT products; professional communication and collaboration using digital tools; apply Artificial Intelligence and the digital competence framework across all six domains including (1) Digital information and data, (2) Digital communication and collaboration, (3) Digital content creation, (4) Digital security, (5) Problem solving in digital environments, (6) Digital competencies in professional contexts.
- LO08: Justify and solve problems related to the design, implementation, and maintenance of computer networks; develop IoT systems using intelligent solutions on Cloud Computing and Big Data platforms.
- LO09: Analyze and compare to provide appropriate solutions for system maintenance, cybersecurity, and application development on platforms of Cloud Computing, IoT, Artificial Intelligence, and Big Data.
- LO10: Possess communication skills, ability to read English documents, meet foreign language standards as prescribed; use foreign languages in combination with digital tools for effective study, research, and professional communication.
3.1.3 Autonomy and responsibility
- LO11: Be able to work independently or in groups under changing conditions; assume personal and group responsibilities; cooperative spirit in digital environments.
- LO12: Guide and supervise others in completing defined tasks.
