Functions
The Faculty of Basic Sciences has the function of teaching and professionally managing the courses, subjects/modules in two groups: Basic and Foundation at the university, college, vocational college and intermediate levels of all training disciplines and professions in the University:
1. Basic group includes courses, subjects/modules: Advanced Mathematics, Statistical Probability, Statistical Principles, Economic Mathematics, General Physics, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, General Biology, etc.
2. Foundation group includes courses, subjects/modules: Introduction to Informatics, Figure – Technical Drawing, Engineering Mechanics, Theoretical Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Principles – Machine Parts, Mechanical Materials, Material Sciences, Tolerance – Measurement Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, Engineering Fluctuation, Management of State Administration and Education – Training, etc.
Missions
Faculty of Basic Sciences has the following missions:
– Organizing the teaching of courses and subjects/ modules belonged to the Faculty’s management according to the training program and the general teaching plan of the university;
– Assigning teaching to each lecturer in the Faculty on the basis of agreement with the Department of Personnel and Administrative Affairs, and Department of Academic Affairs; monitoring the number of hours taught by each lecturer during the academic year; balancing and arranging the lectures and taking responsibility before the Rector for the extra teaching hours as well as lack of teaching hours of the Faculty;
– Carrying out the compilation of curricula, syllabuses, learning materials when assigned; organizing the research of innovating the contents, improving the teaching methodology and other functions to ensure and improve the quality of training;
– Drawing up plans for scientific research and educational activities according to the annual training programs and plans of the University;
– Coordinating with Department of Scientific Management and International Cooperation to hold specialized seminars, workshops on science in the fields undertaken by the Faculty;
– Managing the permanent staff, lecturers and visiting lecturers of the Faculty, proposing changes in organization and personnel in the Faculty as decentralized by the Rector;
– Managing the staff, lecturers teaching a number of courses and subjects/ modules of the general education knowledge block and some knowledge of the fundamental block managed by the Faculty;
– Safely and effectively managing and using facilities and technical equipment within the scope of the Faculty’s management; proposing the addition and maintenance of equipment managed by the Faculty;
– Coordinating with the Department of Personnel and Administrative Affairs to work out plans and organize the training and upgrading of professional qualifications for lecturers and staff of the Faculty;
– Implementing the work of reporting as prescribed by the Rector;
– Performing other missions as assigned by the University’s leaders.
