On May 25, 2017, leaders of Vinh Long University of Technology Education had a meeting with Prof. Dr. Young - yeol Choo, Dean, Office of International Affairs; Director of Ubiquitous Port IT Research Institute, Dept. of Computer Engineering, Tongmyong University (TU) in implementation of the MOU previously signed.

VLUTE representatives consisting of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cao Hung Phi - Rector; Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung - Vice Rector; Dr. Le Hong Ky, Vice Rector, Head of International Cooperation Department; leaders of functional offices and faculties such as Office of Academic Affairs, Office of Student Affairs, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Technology, Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology, Faculty of Information Technology, Faculty of Food Technology; together with a number of lecturers warmly welcomed the delegation of KOREATECH.

During the meeting, the delegate from TU introduced an overview of the history, training domains and disciplines, joint training activities of KOREATECH with domestic and foreign universities. Then, the two units made specific plans for the joint training program in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) previously signed.

VLUTE and TU exchanged and agreed on four important contents of the MOU in which the two universities will sign up to build the joint bachelor training program under the “2+2” and “1+4” formula. Specifically, the candidates being received to study in VLUTE will have opportunities to study in Korea 2 + 2, i.e., students will spend 2 years studying at VLUTE and then be transferred to TU for the last 2 years. In this form, graduates will be issued with a dual degree from the two universities. During 2 years at VLUTE, students will be trained in basic sciences, specialized subjects, Korean language and culture. For 2 years at TU, students will receive advanced training in specialization. With the form “1+4”, the candidates being received to study in VLUTE will have one year studying Korean language and culture at VLUTE. After that, they will study at TU for 4 years, and be granted the bachelor degree from TU.

Prof. Dr. Cao Hung Phi also expressed his sincere thanks to Prof. Dr. Young - yeol Choo for his visit to VLUTE, and wished that the two sides’ forthcoming cooperation would maximize the effectiveness in order to create the best conditions for VLUTE students to study in KOREATECH in the student exchange program.

After the meeting, leaders of VLUTE introduced and guided the delegation of TU to visit some places in VLUTE main campus: administrative campus, blocks of classrooms, labs, computer rooms, workshops, equipment, and facilities of the university.
