Over the past years, Vinh Long University of Technology Education (VLUTE) has paid much attention to the field of international cooperation. The university actively makes worldwide cooperative efforts to enhance qualifications in training, scientific research and technology transfer. VLUTE has cooperated with advanced universities in the region and the world in the field of vocational education, facilitating to improve the university's training effectiveness, and meet the increasingly diverse needs of the society.
Through the national projects in technology and vocational education, many delegations of cadres and teachers have been sent to developed countries to report the scientific papers, work, study, survey technical educational activities and seek for cooperation and joint training opportunities in Korea, Laos, Japan and Thailand, Taiwan, France, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Republic of the Philippines, etc. Additionally, the university’s teaching staff attended useful short-term professional training courses, regularly join international projects and contribute to create multiple means of teaching such as Switcontact, Inwent, APEFE projects. In 2014, 10 prestigious lecturers was honored as trainees of the vocational training courses in Australia. Since 2015, some of the lecturers have been sent to France, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Lao PDR, etc. for their further study.
In addition, the university also sent delegations of teaching staff and students to take part in the training courses in Thailand, joined the Asean Skills Competition 2016 in Malaysia, attended the Joint Knowledge Creation Program for young leaders organized by JICA in 2016 in the field of vocational education and training in Japan, participated in technical internship at Seiwa Kogyo Company in Japan, the 2016 ASEAN Vocational Training and Technology Summer Camp in Thailand.
At the same time, VLUTE has received many foreign delegations to exchange and cooperate in training. Over the years, the University has welcomed foreign universities and colleges as well as international organizations to visit and work, and has signed memorandums and cooperation contracts such as Tokuyama University (Japan), Tongmyong University (Korea), Benguet University (Philippines), Viet My Groups, Esuhai Company (Japan), EmathsBook Center (Australia), Technical University of Sofia (Bulgaria), Niagara College (Canada), the delegation of JICA (Japan), Deajeon University (Korea), Tokai University (Japan), Fulbright Program in Vietnam, etc.
VLUTE has welcomed many foreign volunteer delegations to support the university with specialized English its professional faculties such as the Global Opportunities Institute, Korea International Cooperation Agency - KOICA. Besides, the university has received several delegations of vocational teachers from Lao PDR to attend vocational training courses. VLUTE also welcomed 02 Lao students to study IT in the academic year 2016-2017 under the Agreement, and 01 Lao student is studying Food Technology for the university transfer program. At the present, VLUTE is receiving 01 KOICA volunteer, Korea, majoring in Mechatronics, to do his volunteer work in 02 years, starting from October, 2016. Through the Overseas Labor Centers, and foreign partners, the University regularly recruits qualified students to work as trainees in Japan, Korea, etc.
Particularly, in May 2015, VLUTE officially joined the Regional Association for Vocational Teacher Education (RAVTE). This is considered a major step for the university to reach out to the region and the world, contributing to improving the quality of vocational training and promoting the integration process taking place in the East and Southeast Asia.
